Have you ever noticed that when scrolling down a page on your iPhone, the screen scroll jumps? This is not only annoying but it can also break the momentum of reading. Fixing this issue will require some simple steps and effort. It may take some time to get used to the new way scrolling works after changing these settings, but the end result will certainly be worth it.
1) Go to Settings, and tap on General. Then scroll down until you see Accessibility . Under this section you will find a slider for Assistive Touch . Slide it to the right until a small white circle appears in your screen. This is the Assistive Touch button. Now a menu should pop up on the bottom of your screen. Tap on More .
2) Scroll down to the “Customize Top Level Menu” section towards the bottom of the page. Here you will find an extensive list of options under different headings, some common ones being Device, Music, and Notifications.
3) To fix scrolling jumps, go to the “Interaction” section and select Stop Scrolling in Pane .
4) Exit out of Settings. You will now see your Assistive Touch button at all times on the bottom left hand side of your screen. As you can not simply click this button, you need to quickly click it with 3 fingers simultaneously to turn it off. When you do this, it should disappear from the screen.
With your Assistive Touch now turned on and your scrolling jump fixed, you can begin to notice those irritating scrolling jumps as soon as you start using your Iphone again. To undo the fix, simply repeat these steps but this time select Pane instead of Stop Scrolling in Pane .
You can also use this same process for any other accessibility options. Have fun trying them out!
